Centenary of First Service in St. Martin's church building

Prior to the service, the choir gathered outside the chapel and Jane played music from the first service on a pedal-powered harmonium

 

The church, chapel and creche were fully occupied.

   

 

The Introit, Enter thy courts,was followed by the opening hymn Praise to the Lord, during which the Rector and Archbishop processed.

 

 

The Rector welcomed the Archbishop and congregation.

The second hymn, Now thank we all our God, was followed by prayer and the Children's Spot.

Items to be placed in the time capsule were displayed.

The prayers of the people were read by members of the congregation.

The Blessing.

The choir recessed, followed by the Archbishop and Rector.

 

Children filled the time capsule after the service.

 

Dedication and burial of the time capsule.
